Welcome to the Kavanagh Ensemble, Ireland’s leading String Group, providing Duos, Trios and Quartets for Weddings, Events and Pop Backing/Session work.

All the musicians who play with the Kavanagh Ensemble are at the height of their profession, performing on a daily basis with all of the Irish Orchestras as well as performing and recording with artists such as Katie Melua, Westlife, The Priests, Shirley Bassey, Katherine Jenkins, Belle & Sebastian, Celtic Woman and Andrea Bocelli.

With over four years experience providing string groups for nearly 200 events, we look forward to playing for your big day. We will walk you through every step, from deciding on the ensemble that will suit your venue and budget, to helping with the music choices.

We offer packages for Church, Receptions, Civil and Humanist Weddings.

The Kavanagh Ensemble was founded in 2010 by Beth McNinch, Principal Viola of the Wexford Festival Opera Orchestra and Artistic Director of Musici Ireland, one of the country’s leading chamber ensembles. Beth studied in London where she went on to work with the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, to name but a few.

Her experience shines through as the principal contact of the Kavanagh Ensemble and her passion for music is evident in all her endeavours.

The Kavanagh Ensemble chose their name in recognition of the great Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh, in particular, his poem "On Raglan Road". Famously, this was set to music by Luke Kelly of the Dubliners.

I just wanted to write to thank you again for the wonderful music you played for us on our wedding day in Kilkenny. We were both thrilled with the music played and our families thought all the selections were unique and perfectly suited to each part of the ceremony. The atmosphere in the church was so warm and intimate and the music only added more to that. The only thing we were disappointed with was that we only got to hear the opening notes of 'All You Need is Love' for the recessional! Especially the Korean 'Arirang' was a wonderful addition and I thank you and your group so much for learning and performing a new piece at short notice. It was a real treat for Sun's family to hear their own traditional music as well. You were most helpful with offering your suggestions for pieces to suit each part of the cermony in the planning stages. I would never have known about some pieces if it wasn't for you. The church music was one of the most important decisions for us to make and we couldn't have been happier to have chosen the Kavanagh Ensemble! I will happliy recommend your group to future brides on some wedding websites if that is ok with you!

Thank you again for making our wedding day so special and intimate. We were delighted that we chose the Kavanagh Ensemble. They were extremely efficient and helpful with the pre wedding arrangements. With a vast choice of music to suit all tastes. The quality of the music was excellent and it brought a lovely air of calmness to our church ceremony. We can highly recommend the Kavanagh Ensemble for any wedding or function that you are considering.

Thank you so much for making our church ceremony so beautiful with your excellent performance. The advice that you gave us in terms of music selection etc was great and made the whole process mucheasier than I would have anticipated. The music was simply gorgeous and everyone commented on it during the day. Again, a very big thank you for all your help.

Booking the Kavanagh Ensemble was seamless, very professionally dealt with at every step. We were given a playlist along with a CD with pieces of music to pick from that would be suitable for our wedding. In the end however as there is so much to choose from, we left the decisions to the people who know best, thank you Beth for picking so well for us. Thank you for helping create a wonderful atmosphere in the church the day of our wedding. It was simply wonderful. Everything was timed and played to perfection, and the music filled the church beautifully. There were a lot of compliments from our guests, and enquiries as to how and where to find the Kavanagh Ensemble. The music played was elegant, and added so much to our day, thank you so much again, and also to the four musicians who played on the day.

The music which the Kavanagh Ensemble played, framed our civil ceremony perfectly and definitely made the occasion extra special. They were tremendously supportive in helping us select suitable music and the order of it, beforehand. Their customer relations are second to none, they pay great attention to detail and are very amenable. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Everyone at the reception was congratulating us on the beautiful music that set the scene in the church. Well Beth I have you and your group to thank for that . From the first moment I spoke with you I knew we were in safe hands. Your professional approach and gentle manner(even with a music amateur like me ) was very reassuring.
